What about Breakfast? Second breakfast? Elevenses?

So... Calista is eleven months old... and has been for more than a week now. Sorry? In my defense, she turned 11 months while we were travelling from Oregon to Canada, so we were a bit busy.
Also, this post will be somewhat complimented with an additional post all about said time in Oregon, including many pictures of Calista walking on the beach.

Calista is a funny girl. She has started to mimic us a lot more.
Holding her hands, for example. Or attempting (and failing, but it makes her happy) to make a kissy or fishy face. Or clapping. Or blowing raspberries. Or shaking her head no, and to a lesser extent, nodding yes. It's so fun to watch her try to copy us, and she loves the call and answer, so to speak.

What's a blog post without a cute bath baby?
Or a rubber duck? Much sadder than it needs to be.

Calista is definitely pulling up on everything.
At the very end of the month, she started to occasionally let go of things and stand on her own for a second or so. She's still unsure, and always falls down after a few seconds, but she's working on it.

She finds toys so much fun.
Her room looks like this, and often much worse (see how many toys are still in their box, and how many books are still on the shelf?), with her sitting happily in the center of it all.

Anything that she can reach is a toy for her.
Including the safe at our hotel. I'm just happy she didn't manage to lock anything in it.

Calista has her moments, but in general, she is just a chill babe.
Unless you want her to sleep when she doesn't want to. Or she's hungry.

Calista had fun playing with family at the beach house in Oregon.
I need to get more pictures (from my mother...), so to remind her, here is one of Calista and my mom, Grammie May. They're playing peekaboo using the couch.

Like I said, we went to Oregon to the beach. Here is the first of what will be many beach baby pictures...
...but the rest will be in another post. Sorry to get your hopes up!

Because the Pacific Northwest Ocean isn't the warmest in the world, we set up a pool on the balcony of the beach house.
Calista still wasn't sure what to think of it, but the boats are pretty fun.

I know sharks are big and scary and all, but...
Calista is unimpressed by them.
Maybe it's the Indiana Jones in her.

Happy Elevenses!
May you eat all the carrots you could possibly want!
